Koppala (Karnataka): A six-year-old boy was hospitalised after falling from the first floor of his house in Hamalara Colony, Koppala, while playing on the premises. The child, identified as Mohammed Harris, reportedly lost his balance while chasing a pigeon and fell to the ground below.
The incident occurred within the limits of the Koppala City Police Station and was captured on a nearby CCTV camera. According to officials and family members, the boy sustained a head injury in the fall but narrowly escaped serious harm.
He was immediately rushed by his parents to a private hospital in the city, where doctors confirmed that his condition is stable. Medical staff said the injuries are not life-threatening, and the child is currently undergoing treatment and observation.
The incident has drawn attention to the risks posed by unguarded balconies and terraces, especially for young children. Similar accidents involving minors have been reported in the region in recent years, often caused by momentary distractions during play.
As the child continues to recover, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of child safety measures at home, including adequate railings, safety nets, and constant adult supervision to prevent such accidents.
