Bengaluru (Karnataka):
IndiGo on Thursday issued a travel advisory alerting passengers to possible flight delays and disruptions due to dense fog and low visibility conditions in Bengaluru.
The airline said it is closely monitoring the weather situation and is taking all necessary steps to ensure passenger safety and smooth operations. In its advisory, IndiGo noted that poor visibility caused by fog has impacted flight schedules in the city.
“Low visibility and fog over #Bangalore has impacted flight schedules. We are keeping a close watch on the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be safely and smoothly,” the airline said.
Passengers have been advised to regularly check their flight status through IndiGo’s official channels. “We request travellers to stay updated on their flight status. Our teams are available to assist at every step and provide full support,” the advisory added, while thanking passengers for their patience and understanding.
Meanwhile, the airline reiterated its operational readiness ahead of the holiday travel season. On Wednesday, IndiGo stated that it continues to maintain stable operations, carrying more than one million passengers every three days.
“We have been consistently operating between 2,100 and 2,200 flights and flying to and from all 138 destinations across our network, while maintaining IndiGo’s standards of on-time performance,” the airline said, adding that it is fully prepared to handle the expected surge in holiday travel demand.
Looking ahead, IndiGo also announced preparations to induct India’s first Airbus A321XLR aircraft, which is expected to enhance medium- to long-haul connectivity. The airline plans to deploy the aircraft on routes connecting Delhi and Mumbai with Athens starting January 23, 2026, as previously announced.
The carrier further said it is evaluating additional domestic and international destinations in line with its fleet expansion plans and will share updates in due course.
In recent days, dense fog has caused widespread disruptions across the aviation sector, especially in northern India. IndiGo acknowledged that it was also affected but said operations were managed effectively to maintain overall stability despite challenging weather conditions.
