Sudha Murty, who is ecstatic to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha, on Women’s Day.

Ageny (Bengaluru): PM announced her nomination on his official X account and added, Her presence in the Rajya Sabha is a powerful testament to our Nari Shakti, exemplifying the strength and potential of women in shaping our nation’s destiny.

According to Ms. Murty, She is doubly thrilled to be presented with this honour on Womens’ Day, and the nomination has come as a pleasant surprise, and the honor gave her the biggest platform in India’s public service to help people.

She also added that The announcement caught her off guard. Thus, she have not yet developed her ideas for serving in parliament. Her purpose for being in Thailand is to give several seminars. She will see what she can do to use this platform to help the people of India once she get back home,” she remarked.

Ms. Murty, now 73, was born in 1950 in the Karnataka district of Haveri, in Shiggaon. Her first job at Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO), now known as Tata Motors, was as an engineer. She graduated with a degree in computer science engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). She is wed to Infosys co-founder N. R. Narayana Murthy.

For more than twenty years, she presided over the Infosys Foundation and oversaw a number of charitable endeavors on behalf of the organization. She is a well-known Kannada and English author and motivational speaker. Her children’s books have sold a lot of copies. In 2023, she received the Padma Bhushan. Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak is married to her daughter Akshata Murthy.
