Agency(Jammu): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, at an election rally in Kathua, Jammu, asserted India’s military capabilities, stating the nation could target its enemies beyond the Line of Control (LoC). “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has the world’s best military and can conduct operations within enemy territories across the LoC,” Singh declared, referencing the surgical strike on September 28 as proof of India’s military strength.
During his speech, Singh campaigned for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate, Dr. Jitendera Singh, in the Udhampur parliamentary constituency. He praised Modi’s leadership for elevating India’s status on a global scale and critiqued regional parties and Congress for exploiting Article 370 for political benefits. He questioned the activities of Congress leaders in Kashmir, hinting at the misuse of Article 370 before its revocation.
Singh also criticized PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s previous warnings about the national flag’s status in Jammu and Kashmir post-Article 370, highlighting that the tricolour now proudly flies across the region.
He further praised the Modi administration for its initiatives, such as providing free healthcare for seniors and abolishing Triple Talaq to protect women’s rights. Singh’s remarks come as the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency prepares for its upcoming election on April 19, with the BJP positioning Chaudhary Lal Singh as its candidate against Congress.
