Rahul Gandhi Cites Global Icons Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi refutes PM Modi's claims about Mahatma Gandhi's recognition, emphasizing that global figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Albert Einstein were inspired by Mahatma Gandhi.

Agency (New Delhi) – (AryavarthNews) : During a rally in Balasore, Odisha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed comments made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Mahatma Gandhi’s global influence. Contrary to Modi’s assertion that the world learned of Gandhi through the film ‘Gandhi,’ Rahul highlighted that iconic figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Albert Einstein drew inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings.

Rahul criticized the RSS, stating, “Whose training is done in ‘sakha’ of RSS, they are followers of Godse, they do not know anything about Gandhiji.” He argued that RSS members lack an understanding of Gandhi’s profound impact on history and principles of truth and non-violence.

He emphasized the widespread influence of Gandhi’s ideology, stating, “Martin Luther King Jr., Mandelaji, Einstein, and many others took inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi. Different movements, freedom movements also took inspiration from Gandhiji. Children of India also get inspiration from Gandhiji.”

Rahul concluded his remarks by suggesting that further comments on the subject were unnecessary, as those opposing his views were deeply entrenched in their ideologies.
