Agency(West Bengal): During a spirited rally in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a vehement critique of opposition parties, accusing them of protecting corrupt individuals. Modi, emphasizing his image as a decisive leader recognized globally for his strength, delineated his government’s dedication to purging the nation of corruption and terrorism.

In his speech, Modi contrasted his anti-corruption stance with the opposition’s alleged attempt to “save the corrupt.” He highlighted the misinformation spread by the INDIA bloc parties—TMC, Left, and Congress—about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), asserting the BJP government’s commitment to it.

Addressing the audience, Modi portrayed the forthcoming Lok Sabha election as pivotal for forming a strong and stable government. He criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal for hindering the implementation of central schemes and blocking the establishment of medical colleges, a move he described as characteristic of the BJP’s vision for healthcare expansion across India.

Modi also addressed issues of women’s safety in West Bengal, promising that only the BJP could halt the atrocities against women in the state. He referenced the Sandeshkhali incident, advocating for justice against the accused TMC leader and his associates, embroiled in allegations of land grabbing and sexual harassment.

Urging for support for the BJP, Modi stressed the significance of the 21st century for India’s development trajectory, with West Bengal poised to benefit significantly from the country’s progress. He concluded with a pointed remark towards West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, recalling a past rally incident as an example of the people’s response to political tactics aimed at silencing opposition voices.

Modi’s address in Cooch Behar encapsulates the BJP’s electoral strategy, focusing on governance free of corruption and ensuring the security and welfare of the populace, while also spotlighting the ongoing political contention in West Bengal.
