New Delhi (Agency): On Wednesday, officials announced that Faridabad police have detained a man in Gurugram for purportedly creating counterfeit passports and Aadhaar cards for wanted criminals, Himanshu alias Jangli and Manoj alias Billa.

Both Himanshu and Manoj had been taken into custody 12 days prior. On Monday, police apprehended the accused and confiscated a CPU and computer from his possession. The individual was presented in a city court on Wednesday and then placed under judicial supervision.

Sube Singh, a police spokesperson, identified the arrested suspect as Manoj alias Brahmdutt, a resident of Krishna Colony in Gurugram. Brahmdutt originates from the village of Kumrodha in the Rewari district.

According to Singh, Brahmdutt has been forging Aadhaar cards, passports, and pan cards since 2010. During this period, the government had commissioned private companies to manufacture Aadhaar cards. Back then, to create the unique identification number, a signature on a letterhead from the head of the village or city, a sarpanch, or any councillor or institutional officer was all that was needed.

Singh added that around 2015-2016, Himanshu and Manoj developed a friendship with Brahmdutt. In exchange for money, he crafted the counterfeit passports and Aadhar cards for them.
