Brig Aman Anand Leads Chhattisgarh, Odisha Sub Area

Brig Aman Anand assumes command of the Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area, bringing a wealth of experience from various sensitive military appointments.

Agency (Chhattisgarh and Odisha): Brig Aman Anand has officially taken over the command of the Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area in a ceremony held at Naya Raipur Military Station. Anand, who was commissioned into the Kumaon Regiment in 1995, brings a diverse range of experiences from his service in prestigious command, staff, and instructional appointments.

Throughout his career, Brig Anand has commanded troops in various challenging environments, including the Kashmir Valley, along the India-China Border, the Siachen Glacier, and in South Sudan. His unique experiences extend to serving in some of the most sensitive appointments, including roles in the maritime domain and air-operations.

Brig Anand has also been at the helm of a military think-tank and served as the Army’s spokesperson from 2017 to 2021. His promotion to ADG-Media by the Government of India came during the period of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, notably around the time of the Balakot incident.

In addition to his military accomplishments, Brig Anand is also an accomplished national-level horseman and a services champion in precision shooting. His prowess in these fields led him to represent India in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Upon assuming his new command, Brig Anand praised the excellent work done by all ranks of the Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area (COSA) and encouraged them to continue serving with devotion, passion, and zeal. He also extended warm greetings to the defense services veterans of Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

Brig Anand’s appointment to this key position reflects his extensive experience and commitment to service, and his leadership is expected to positively impact the military operations and readiness in the Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area.
