The Aryavarth Express
Agency (New Delhi): Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan hosted the Kalyanak Mahotsav on Monday, celebrating the 2550th Nirvana year of Bhagwan Mahavir Swami. The event saw the participation of esteemed Jain saints and sadhvis, including Rashtra Saint Paramparacharya Shri Pragyasagar Muniraj, Fourth Pattacharya Shri Sunil Sagar Muniraj, Pravartak Dr. Rajendra Muni, Sadhvi Anima Shri, and Mahasadhvi Preeti Ratna Shri.

The chief guest and keynote speaker, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, the Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), focused his address on the profound wisdom of the Ekatmta Stotra. He noted its unique compilation, incorporating insights from an array of sacred texts including the Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Geeta, Jaingranth, Buddhist Tripitaka, and Guru Granth Sahib, highlighting its significance as a comprehensive source of knowledge in Bharat.

Dr. Bhagwat delved into the human pursuit of eternal happiness, pointing out the Indian tradition of introspection and internal search for truth, leading to the discovery of the ultimate reality. He used the analogy of how different people perceive a glass of water differently to illustrate the subjectivity of perception.

In concluding his speech, Dr. Bhagwat underscored the timeless relevance of the teachings of Mahavir Swami Ji. He advocated for a way of life rooted in principles such as viewing everyone as part of oneself, seeking joy beyond material possessions, fostering harmony, practicing non-violence and patience, abstaining from theft, and avoiding envy for others’ wealth. These principles, he stressed, offer a sustainable and enduring way of life.

The event also featured contributions from revered Jain community leaders, sharing their insights on this significant occasion.
