Agency(Uttar Pradesh): Ayodhya, the revered city in Uttar Pradesh, is bustling with preparations for the Ram Navami festival, marking a significant event as it will be the first celebration post the commencement of the temple’s construction. Scheduled for April 17, corresponding with the ninth day of the shukla paksha in the Hindu calendar month of Chaitra, this year’s Ram Navami is anticipated to attract the largest congregation of devotees in the city’s history.

Efforts to accommodate the expected surge of pilgrims have initiated, involving meticulous coordination between the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust and the local administration. These preparations are aimed at addressing the influx of worshippers, anticipated to arrive in Ayodhya a few days prior to the festival and remain for several days afterward. Officials are focused on ensuring the devotees’ safety, convenience, and satisfaction throughout the festival period.

Key considerations for the administration include effectively managing the anticipated volume of visitors, facilitating smooth and secure access to the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, and preventing overcrowding scenarios. To this end, plans include the introduction of multiple entry and exit points at the temple premises.

In anticipation of the large gatherings, comprehensive arrangements for continuous medical support and emergency services are being set up. Anil Mishra, a trustee of the Ram temple trust, highlighted the extensive preparations underway, from enhanced security measures to ensuring a fulfilling pilgrimage experience for the attendees.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is personally overseeing the planning process, emphasizing the significance of the event and the commitment to providing an exemplary level of hospitality to all visitors. The celebrations will commence with early morning prayers dedicated to the Sun deity, followed by special midday prayers to honor the birth of Lord Ram.

The festivities will include singing devotional hymns, rocking idols of Lord Ram in cradles, and conducting rathyatras featuring figures of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman, and Lord Hanuman. Additionally, a mass gathering is expected along the banks of the sacred Sarayu river, where devotees will partake in holy dips, further enriching the spiritual ambiance of this auspicious occasion.
