Army Soldier Found Dead on Railway Tracks at Ambala Station

New Delhi (Agency): A horrifying discovery was made at the Ambala Cantt Railway Station on Thursday when the mutilated body of an Army jawan was found on the railway line. The left arm, shoulder, and left leg of the soldier were chopped off, while his head and chest were crushed, presumably by a train, the police said.

The deceased soldier was identified as U K Yadav, a Naik in the Army stationed at Ambala Cantonment. Yadav was originally from Nathkheda village in Rai Bareli, Uttar Pradesh.

Initial investigations by the police suggested that it could have been an accident. The Government Railway Police speculated that the incident likely occurred late Wednesday night, with the soldier possibly crossing the tracks and getting hit by a train. However, authorities are not ruling out the possibility of suicide.

Yadav’s identity was confirmed through a diary found in his pocket, although no railway ticket was located on his person. Dharamveer Singh, the In-Charge at the GRP Station, said they were alerted about the incident in the morning.

The soldier’s body has been sent to the Civil Hospital for an autopsy, and his family has been notified of the tragic incident.
