Shimla (Himachal Pradesh): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday launched the Bilaspur district administration’s innovative digital learning initiative, ‘Padhai with AI’, at Barthin.
According to an official release, the AI-based platform has been introduced specifically to support students in Bilaspur district preparing for various competitive examinations. The initiative aims to provide modern, technology-driven learning tools and equal access to quality education.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Sukhu said education is not merely about completing a syllabus but is the most powerful means to guide society, expand thinking and shape the future of coming generations. He added that the state government views education as a key instrument for social change and is continuously working to strengthen the education system through innovation while ensuring equal opportunities for all students.
Praising the initiative, the Chief Minister said ‘Padhai with AI’ is a forward-looking step towards securing a brighter future for students. He noted that the platform will offer a fully digital learning system along with continuous academic counselling, enabling students to study effectively regardless of their location.
Deputy Commissioner Bilaspur, Rahul Kumar, said that under the ‘Padhai with AI’ programme, students are being provided modern, technology-based and quality educational facilities with support from NTPC.
Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani and senior government officials were present at the event.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Sukhu also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s Geotropy India Pvt. Ltd. as part of the state’s efforts to move towards becoming a Green Energy State.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi and Iceland’s Ambassador to India, Benedikt Hoskuldsson, were present during the signing ceremony. The MoU was signed by Chief Engineer, Directorate of Energy, D.P. Gupt, on behalf of the state government, and by Tomos Otto Hansson, Chairperson of Iceland-based GEOTROPY ehf.
Reiterating the state government’s commitment to sustainable energy, the Chief Minister said Himachal Pradesh is actively working to harness green energy sources, with geothermal energy being a clean and environment-friendly option. He noted that the state has significant geothermal potential and emphasised the need to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources.
Highlighting that geothermal energy is available round the clock, Chief Minister Sukhu directed the company to begin exploration at the earliest to tap the state’s geothermal potential.
