Gurugram: In a startling incident early Sunday morning, unidentified individuals opened fire outside the residence of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram’s Sector 57. According to Gurugram Police, over a dozen rounds were discharged at around 5:30 AM by three masked assailants. Yadav was not present at the property during the time of the incident.
Confirming the development, Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram Police, stated, “Three masked miscreants opened fire outside Elvish Yadav’s residence. More than a dozen rounds were fired. An investigation is currently underway.”
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and police are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence as part of the probe.
This incident comes amid ongoing legal troubles for Yadav. The Supreme Court recently granted an interim stay on proceedings against him in a high-profile rave party case, where allegations included the use of snake venom and illegal drugs.
The top court, led by Justices M.M. Sundresh and Joymalya Bagchi, issued notices to the Uttar Pradesh government and complainant Gaurav Gupta after Yadav challenged the chargesheet and summons issued in the case. Yadav argued that the informant lacked the authority to file an FIR under the Wildlife Protection Act.
Previously, the Allahabad High Court had dismissed Yadav’s plea to quash the charges, stating the need for thorough legal examination due to the seriousness of the multiple FIRs involved.
Elvish Yadav has been chargesheeted under several laws, including:
Wildlife Protection Act: Sections 9, 39, 48A, 49, 50, and 51
Indian Penal Code (IPC): Sections 284, 289, and 120B
NDPS Act: Sections 8, 22, 29, 30, and 32
The First Additional ChiefJudicial Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar had issued a summons in the matter. Yadav has denied any involvement, claiming that no narcotics, psychotropic substances, or snakes were recovered from his possession.
The investigation into the shooting and the ongoing legal proceedings continue.
