Demis Hassabis, CEO of DeepMind, praised India for hosting the summit at a critical juncture, as Artificial Generative Intelligence emerges on the global stage. He highlighted AI’s transformative potential across science, medicine, climate change, and human health.
“AI is going to be the most transformative technology in human history… it is going to affect everybody across the world. Summits like this bring the international community together to ensure benefits are shared and risks are mitigated,” Hassabis said.
Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys and chairman of Axilor Ventures, stressed that Artificial Intelligence’s true impact will depend on its applications. He noted India’s potential to become a global leader in AI-driven solutions, leveraging its large developer base and domestic adoption of technology.
The tech leaders echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, who described Artificial Intelligence as a force multiplier capable of expanding human potential across sectors. Speaking to, the Prime Minister highlighted government initiatives to equip India’s workforce for an AI-driven future.
“Preparation is the best antidote to fear. That is why we have been investing in skilling and re-skilling our people. Artificial Intelligence will help doctors, teachers, and lawyers reach more people, and it will create new opportunities even as it redefines jobs,” PM Modi said.
He also cited India’s performance in the Stanford Global Artificial Intelligence Vibrancy Index 2025, where the country ranked 3rd globally in AI research, talent, and economy.
The summit, held from February 16 to 20, brings together global AI experts, policymakers, and innovators to advance responsible, inclusive, and development-focused Artificial Intelligence adoption, reflecting India’s growing influence in the international Artificial Intelligence ecosystem.
