Mumbai: Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming war epic 120 Bahadur is set to make history as the first-ever film to release across India’s defence theatres. The film will screen exclusively for soldiers and their families in more than 800 defence cinema halls nationwide when it hits theatres globally on November 21.

In a landmark initiative that aims to transform India’s film distribution landscape, the rollout—led by PictureTime in association with GenSync Brat Media—seeks to bring high-quality cinematic experiences to defence personnel stationed in remote regions.

Sushil Chaudhary, Founder and CEO of PictureTime, said the move is designed to strengthen the entertainment ecosystem for the armed forces.

“There are 1.5 million active soldiers and over six million defence viewers. Yet, only 30% of India’s 20-million-strong veteran and family audience has access to defence cinemas. Our goal is to extend access to the underserved 70%, and we begin with 120 Bahadur, a film that will deeply resonate with the forces,” Chaudhary said in a statement shared by the makers.

About the Film
Based on the legendary Battle of Rezang La, 120 Bahadur stars Farhan Akhtar alongside Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, and Dhanveer Singh.
Directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios).

"With due respect @DKShivakumar sir, let your work speak. The public already knows the ground reality and the corruption happening across the state. Request you not to waste time reacting on @XCorpIndia (twitter), focus on delivering what Karnataka truly needs."@INCIndia…

Farhan Akhtar portrays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati of the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who displayed extraordinary courage during the battle. The trailer showcases his inspiring leadership, including a standout line where he declares:

“Main ladey bina haar nahi manna chahta”
(I don’t want to accept defeat without fighting.)

The film has already generated significant excitement among fans eagerly awaiting its release.
