New Delhi: Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta raised concerns on Friday regarding the recently tabled CAG report on the excise policy, which highlighted a revenue loss of approximately Rs 2,000 crore. He also touched upon the forthcoming CAG report on ‘Public Health Infrastructure & Management of Health Services’.

Gupta remarked, “The findings in the CAG report are startling… It resulted in a revenue loss of nearly Rs 2,000 crore.” The report, tabled by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta earlier this week, examined the “Performance Audit on Regulation and Supply of Liquor in Delhi.” The audit, covering the period from 2017-18 to 2020-21, assessed the regulation and supply of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Foreign Liquor in Delhi. Additionally, the Delhi Assembly session has been extended by two days until March 1.

Regarding the upcoming CAG report on ‘Public Health Infrastructure & Management of Health Services,’ Gupta mentioned, “It will be presented in the Assembly at around 3 pm today.”

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also oversees the finance department, is expected to present the CAG report on ‘Public Health Infrastructure & Management of Health Services’ in the Assembly on Friday. According to sources, this report will focus on the status of government hospitals and health services in 2024, offering an in-depth look at the actual state of healthcare in the national capital.

This will be the second CAG report presented in the Assembly, with the first addressing the excise policy. The new report will review the condition of government hospitals, mohalla clinics, and other health facilities across Delhi. It will assess the gap between the claims of the previous government and the reality on the ground. Key areas such as the availability of medical equipment, the supply of medicines, the number of doctors and nurses, and the quality of patient care will be evaluated. The report may also shed light on whether the Delhigovernment’s budget for the health sector was utilized effectively.
