New Delhi, February 20: French President Emmanuel Macron has drawn attention online after featuring the popular track “Na De Dil Pardesi Nu” from the Hindi blockbuster Dhurandhar in a video marking the end of his recent state visit to India.
The 43-second montage, shared by Macron on X with the message “Thank You India!”, showcased highlights from his trip, including ceremonial receptions, meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, temple visits, cultural engagements and a street jog in Mumbai.
What caught the attention of Indian social media users was the energetic title track from Dhurandhar playing in the background. The unexpected musical choice quickly sparked reactions online, with many users praising the selection and calling it a proud moment for Indian cinema.
Macron’s visit included high-level engagements and strategic discussions. He attended the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi. Speaking about bilateral ties, the French President said the India-France relationship is at its “highest point,” with both nations keen to expand cooperation in technology, innovation and strategic sectors.
During his summit address, Macron also commended India’s rapid digital transformation and described its role in shaping technology governance as a global benchmark. The visit underscored growing collaboration between the two countries, particularly in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, has achieved significant commercial success. The film, also featuring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and Akshaye Khanna, is regarded as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films to date.
The makers are now preparing for the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, scheduled for a pan-India theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid and regional festivals including Gudi Padwa and Ugadi. Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, with music by T-Series, the sequel is among the most anticipated releases of the year.
