Agency(Lucknow): The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has taken comprehensive measures to maintain the integrity of the upcoming UP Board examinations, scheduled from February 22 to March 9. These efforts are aimed at ensuring transparency and security to prevent cheating and malpractices. The government’s strategy involves coordination across various departments to smoothly conduct exams for 55,25,290 students at 8265 examination centers, including 566 government, 3479 funding, and 4220 non-funded centers.

The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council, following CM Yogi’s directives, has involved armed forces to monitor strong rooms, thereby preventing any potential paper leaks or security breaches. Special focus is on centers categorized as sensitive or highly sensitive, where the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) is employed for meticulous monitoring. These centers, known for past irregularities, are under strict vigilance with patrolling by jurisdictional officers and police station officers-in-charge to deter external cheating.

Divyakant Shukla, Secretary of the Council, emphasized the government’s commitment to taking strict action against any hindrances to the examination process, improper printing or publication, and the spread of rumors, treating such activities as cognizable offences. Further reinforcing security, Section 144 may be imposed as needed at examination centers, with restrictions on photocopy shops in the vicinity to prevent confusion.

The district administrations have a crucial role, with Sector Magistrates and Static Magistrates appointed to ensure the exams’ successful completion. Training for these magistrates will focus on the need for stability in their positions. Various departments are cooperating to streamline the examination process. The Transport Department will operate buses regularly, the Energy Department will ensure uninterrupted power supply, the Basic Education Department will provide teacher assistance, and the Health Department will offer primary medical facilities at examination centers. Additionally, the Panchayati Raj and Urban Development Department’s assistance is sought for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation around examination centers.

This collective effort aims to create a secure and conducive environment for students to excel in their examinations, reflecting the government’s dedication to upholding the standards and fairness of the educational system.
