The Aryavarth Express
Agency (New Delhi): Union Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Shri Narayan Rane, in a recent event, declared MSMEs as the backbone of India’s economy. To support and bolster this vital sector, the Ministry of MSME is making concerted efforts. During the inauguration of four Technology Centers and two Extension Centers in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, he emphasized the pivotal role these centers will play in supporting the MSMEs in their respective regions. He encouraged MSMEs to aspire to become world-class, contributing to India’s journey towards self-reliance.

The MSME Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Rakesh Sachan, highlighted initiatives under Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of transforming youths into employment providers rather than job seekers. These initiatives are expected to strengthen the MSME sector further, backed by the State Government’s policies.

The newly inaugurated MSME Technology Centers are located at Greater Noida, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), and Imphal (Manipur), along with two Extension Centers at Karimnagar and Bhavanipatna (Odisha). These centers, under the Ministry of MSME, are equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing and production facilities, including high-end machinery, technology, and consultancy.

Additionally, Shri Rane launched a special scheme for Informal Micro Enterprises by the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises. This scheme, offering loans up to Rs 20 Lakhs, aims to moderate credit risk perception and encourage lending institutions to support micro/nano enterprises, thereby fostering a more dynamic and resilient economic ecosystem.

The event also witnessed the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with India EXIM Bank, which are poised to benefit MSME Exporters by providing essential trade and export-related information.

The MSMEs, significant contributors to India’s exports, are expected to gain considerably from this synergy. The event also celebrated women entrepreneurs trained under the ODOP scheme of the Uttar Pradesh Government, who were distributed toolkits. An exhibition showcasing diverse MSME sectors was organized, featuring stalls from Incubators, special ODOP products, and displays from KVIC and the COIR Board.

Lastly, the event highlighted the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, launched by the Prime Minister on 17.09.2023. This scheme aims to provide comprehensive support to artisans and craftspeople across 18 trades. As of 14.02.2024, the scheme has successfully registered 4,40,172 applications, with a notable number from Uttar Pradesh. An Experience Centre was set up to raise awareness about the trades covered under this scheme.
