New Delhi, India | March 23, 2026: Delhi witnessed a spiritually vibrant weekend as global humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar led two major events that brought together devotion, science, and youth engagement across the capital.
At the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on Saturday, a grand Durga Homa was held during the auspicious period of Chaitra Navaratri. The ritual, symbolizing strength and the removal of fear, featured a powerful “Gantanad” — the collective ringing of thousands of temple bells — along with 12,000 participants chanting the Devi Kavacham in unison.
In a notable blend of tradition and science, studies were conducted in collaboration with All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Indian Council of Medical Research, with monitoring support from Max Healthcare. Researchers assessed environmental changes and tracked participants’ physiological responses, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, to explore the measurable effects of the ritual.
The celebrations continued on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where over 75,000 youth gathered for what was described as the world’s largest “Bhajan Clubbing” event. Organized by Safe Shop, the initiative provided a vibrant, substance-free platform for music, social connection, and emotional well-being.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended as Chief Guest and highlighted the uplifting impact of such gatherings, noting that Gurudev’s presence brings renewed energy and vibrance to the city.
Addressing the youth, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar emphasized the importance of balancing modern life with traditional values. He encouraged building economic growth on the foundation of dharma and urged young people to integrate innovation with spiritual wisdom.
The weekend also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Sri University and Safe Shop to launch the Leadership Excellence Associate Program. The initiative aims to combine professional skill development with mental well-being practices such as pranayama and Sudarshan Kriya, offering structured learning and certification pathways.
Overall, the events showcased a unique fusion of spirituality, science, and youth culture, positioning Delhi as a hub for holistic and community-driven experiences.
