Dehradun (Uttarakhand): Uttarakhand’s daughter and international cricketer Sneha Rana, who represented India in the recently concluded ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, received a congratulatory call from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
According to a press release from the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), CM Dhami praised Sneha Rana for her exceptional performance and contribution to India’s World Cup victory. Acknowledging her achievements and her role in bringing pride to both the state and the nation, the Chief Minister announced a cash incentive of ₹50 lakh for the all-rounder.
“Sneha Rana has brought glory to Uttarakhand on the global stage through her hard work, determination, and talent. Her success is an inspiration for our youth, especially young girls. The state government is committed to providing full support and encouragement to sportspersons,” said CM Dhami in the official statement.
He further added, “Uttarakhand’s daughters are making the nation proud, and Sneha Rana’s stellar performance is a shining example of their excellence.”
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Sneha Rana said, “I am thankful for the encouragement and support. I will continue to strive to bring honour to both the country and Uttarakhand.”
India created history by becoming the fourth nation to win the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, delighting home fans in Navi Mumbai. The tournament witnessed record-breaking performances and unprecedented global viewership.
Deepti Sharma was named Player of the Tournament after becoming the first cricketer to score over 200 runs and take more than 20 wickets in a single Women’s World Cup. She capped off her remarkable run with figures of 5 for 39 in the final, helping India lift the coveted trophy.
