Agency(Bengaluru): Bengaluru witnessed a firm denial from B Y Vijayendra, the President of the BJP in Karnataka, against allegations of favoritism within the party. On Saturday, during the launch of the BJP media center, Vijayendra addressed critiques head-on, asserting that neither he nor his father, the seasoned politician B S Yediyurappa, have ever participated in ‘adjustment politics’ or favored family politics.

Highlighting his commitment to the party’s ethos and leadership decisions, Vijayendra referenced his own political journey. He recalled his aspiration to contest from the Varuna seat in the 2018 Assembly elections—a desire that was ultimately overridden by the party’s central command. Similarly, a proposal for his appointment to the MLC position during the previous BJP administration was also declined by the party leadership in Delhi. Despite these setbacks, Vijayendra emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the party and its decisions, stating, “We never expressed any ill-feelings towards the party or the party high command.”

The state BJP president reinforced the primacy of the party’s central leadership in decision-making processes, asserting that all his decisions have been taken in consultation with them, with the overarching goal of strengthening the BJP rather than promoting any individual or family interests.

In a confident projection of the BJP’s electoral prospects, Vijayendra asserted that the coalition between the BJP and the JD(S) is poised to secure victories across all 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, thanks to the growing popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He conveyed the collective enthusiasm within the party and across the nation for Modi’s continued leadership, underscoring the widespread support for the Prime Minister’s vision for India.
