Agency (Tirupati):Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, under the leadership of Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, recently convened at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala to address critical matters concerning the administration and cultural preservation of the renowned Tirupati temple complex. The meeting, attended by TTD executive officer AV Dharma Reddy and other dignitaries, resulted in a series of impactful decisions aimed at enhancing services, promoting cultural heritage, and ensuring efficient governance.
In a significant move, the board approved the increase of wages for approximately nine thousand employees across various departments of the TTD. This wage augmentation spans different skill categories, benefiting a diverse workforce contributing to the temple’s operations and services.
The board resolved to organize “Nitya Sankeerthanarchana” events for devotees at the seventh mile Sri Anjaneyaswamy, fostering spiritual engagement and devotion. Furthermore, plans were set in motion to construct Annamayya Kalamandir at Thallapaka, reinforcing cultural initiatives. Additionally, the approval for installing modern lights at Tiruchanoor Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple signifies the commitment to enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the temple premises.
Recognizing the significance of the Tirupati birthday festival on February 24, the board decided to include this auspicious day in the official TTD calendar, ensuring its commemoration in future years. Furthermore, proposals for community-centric initiatives, such as the construction of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Puttalam district, Sri Lanka, were approved, highlighting the board’s commitment to promoting Hindu Sanatana Dharma beyond geographical boundaries.
In a move aimed at improving healthcare accessibility, Sri Padmavathi General Hospital, affiliated with Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), announced plans to provide cashless medical treatment to patients with Arogyasri cards, effective from March 1. Additionally, subsidized meals will be offered to various categories of TTD employees, underscoring the board’s commitment to employee welfare and well-being.
Emphasizing the preservation of cultural heritage, the board approved the inauguration of two historical wells near Galigopuram and Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, symbolizing reverence for tradition and heritage. Furthermore, the board announced the removal of the honorary Chief Priest Sri Ramana Dikshitulu for making baseless accusations against TTD officials and religious figures, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity within the organization.
