Rourkela to Welcome Unique Railway Coach Restaurant Before Durga Puja

Rourkela, a city in western Odisha, is set to introduce a dining experience in a railway coach, aimed to be operational before the Durga Puja festival.

New Delhi (Agency): Residents of Rourkela in western Odisha are soon going to enjoy a unique dining experience. A restaurant built inside a railway coach will be opened to the public before the Durga Puja festival. This creative venture is an initiative by a Kolkata-based company.

Prabhat Das, the manager of Rourkela railway station, shared the news. According to him, the restaurant will be located near the second gate on the northern side of the busy railway station. The second gate was chosen for this venture because the first gate and platform 1 already have several other eateries.

Satya Das, a person who often takes the train, expressed happiness about this new dining option. “This will immensely benefit people like me who frequently travel by trains. I hope it will serve good food at an affordable rate,” he said.

Alongside this unique restaurant, the Rourkela railway station is expected to undergo a significant makeover. South Eastern Railways General Manager Anil Kumar Mishra recently visited Rourkela and spoke about a complete transformation for the railway station under a Rs 400 crore project. This project proposal will soon be sent to the railway board for approval. Additionally, two new platforms will also be opened to the public before the Durga Puja festival.

This restaurant initiative is viewed as a fresh and exciting addition to the station and the city at large. It is not just a unique dining option but also a step toward enhancing the overall travel experience for commuters. With the railway station set for a significant revamp and new platforms coming up, Rourkela residents and travelers have much to look forward to. The upcoming Durga Puja festival will not only be a time of celebration but also mark the launch of these new developments.
