Ahmedabad (Gujarat): CEPT University has announced the launch of a two-year, full-time MBA in Real Estate under its Faculty of Management, aimed at preparing the next generation of professionals to lead India’s rapidly evolving real estate sector. The interdisciplinary programme will be open to graduates from all academic backgrounds.
The newly introduced MBA programme stands out for its integrated approach, covering areas ranging from land and urban planning, architecture and design to sustainability, construction technology, finance and real estate strategy. Leveraging CEPT University’s expertise across its Faculties of Management, Planning, Technology, Architecture and Design, the curriculum offers modules in macro-market strategy, project planning and development, firm management, data analytics and sustainability.
Students will gain practical exposure through studio-based learning, real-world projects, field immersions and capstone work. The programme also offers opportunities for international exposure through CEPT’s network of over 40 global academic collaborations with institutions such as the University of Melbourne, Henley Business School, UNSW Sydney and the University of Denver.
The curriculum has been designed in consultation with a distinguished advisory group of industry leaders, including Pawan Bakeri of Bakeri Group, Priyansh Kapoor of Arvind Smart Spaces, Monu Ratra of Capri Global Capital, Swapnil Anil of Colliers International India, Subhankar Mitra, and Angelique Chettiparamb of Henley Business School.
Highlighting the importance of the programme, Pranavant, Dean of the Faculty of Management at CEPT University, said the real estate sector now plays a critical role in addressing urban challenges such as sustainability, affordability and infrastructure integration. He noted that the programme aims to develop professionals capable of strategic thinking and interdisciplinary decision-making to manage India’s urban transformation.
Dr Sejal Patel, Professor and Programme Chair for the MBA in Real Estate, said India’s urban landscape is witnessing rapid growth and increasing complexity. “Real estate today lies at the intersection of urban development, infrastructure, finance and governance. This programme equips students with the skills and knowledge required to lead and innovate in this dynamic environment,” she said.
The first cohort will have an intake of 32 students. While work experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. Graduates from any discipline can apply, and major national entrance test scores will be considered for admission. The fee structure will be similar to other master’s programmes at CEPT University, with last year’s fees at Rs 5.35 lakh per year. Merit- and means-based financial aid, along with assistantship opportunities, will also be available.
CEPT University said the programme aligns with globally established real estate education models in countries such as the US, UK and Australia, addressing a growing need for interdisciplinary leadership in India’s real estate and urban development sectors.
