Adani Group will set up a 570 MW green hydropower plant in Bhutan.

It is great to see that the Prime Minister of Bhutan is taking forward the vision of the King and taking extensive infrastructure initiatives across the Kingdom.



New Delhi (Aryavarth): Adani Group will set up a 570 MW green hydropower plant in Bhutan. Gautam Adani met Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk and Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay in Thimpu on June 16. In this meeting, he signed an agreement for the construction of a 570 MW green hydro plant in Bhutan’s Chukha province. 

Gautam Adani said in a statement issued on X that the meeting with Bhutan’s Prime Minister, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, was very exciting. Signed an agreement with Druk Green Power Corporation Limited for a 570 MW green hydropower plant in Chukha province. It is great to see that the Prime Minister of Bhutan is taking forward the vision of the King and taking extensive infrastructure initiatives across the Kingdom. 

Adani has written that I am looking forward to working together on hydro and other infrastructure in Bhutan. I am excited to collaborate on these initiatives and green energy management for a carbon-negative nation. It is worth noting that last month the Sri Lankan government approved the development of a wind power station in the country with Gautam Adani-led renewable energy company Adani Green Energy.
