The Aryavarth Express Mumbai, March 12: The teaser of the upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla was released on Thursday, offering the first glimpse of the film that reunites actor Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Priyadarshan after a gap of 14 years.
The teaser introduces a mysterious and sprawling mansion that forms the central setting of the story. In a lighthearted moment, Kumar’s character humorously describes the property as being “only two rooms smaller than Buckingham Palace,” immediately setting the tone for the film’s mix of spooky elements and comedy. Despite the eerie atmosphere, his character repeatedly insists that ghosts do not exist.
A key part of the teaser highlights the dynamic between Kumar’s character and the role played by Wamiqa Gabbi. While Gabbi’s character becomes increasingly convinced that supernatural forces are at play inside the mansion, Akshay Kumar remains sceptical, creating comedic tension.
The film also features a large ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Manoj Joshi, Tabu, Mithila Palkar and Jisshu Sengupta.
Alongside the humour, the teaser hints at a darker backstory surrounding the mansion. A local legend warns that no one should get married inside the estate due to an ancient supernatural curse, suggesting that the plot will revolve around uncovering the mystery behind the haunted property.
The teaser combines eerie visuals with Priyadarshan’s trademark situational comedy and slapstick style. Its nostalgic tone has drawn comparisons to the duo’s earlier collaborations such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Phir Hera Pheri, and Bhagam Bhag, which were widely popular with audiences.
Soon after the teaser was released on social media, fans shared enthusiastic reactions in the comments section. One user wrote, “Finally the Bollywood comedy is back. Thank you @priyadarshan.official sir,” while another commented, “The 20s comedy is back with the reunion of the OGs.”
Bhooth Bangla is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films. The film is produced by Akshay Kumar along with Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor.
The film completed its shooting schedule in May last year and is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 10, 2026.
