Review Overview

Bengaluru | — Financial transparency concerns have been raised regarding the functioning of Sri Salasar Balaji Seva Samiti, a charitable trust registered with the Sub-Registrar’s Office, Jayanagar, on June 23, 2022 (Document No. SHR-4-00340-2022-23). Complainants associated with the trust allege that it has collected over ₹20 crore through donations, trusteeship fees and life-membership charges, but has not made its accounts or audited statements public.

According to the submission, the trust’s affairs are primarily handled by a core group comprising President Pramod Murarka, Vice-President Satish Mittal, Secretary Manit Somani, Treasurer Rajkamal Ganerewal and Construction Committee Chairman Sanjay Shah. It is alleged that a substantial portion of contributions was received in cash without receipts, and that several expenditures were also routed in cash.

The concerns gained renewed attention after the trust organised a programme titled ‘Chakravyuh’ at the Prestige Centre for Performing Arts on January 11, 2026, where, according to complainants, both collections and expenses were largely cash-based.

A formal grievance on the matter has been successfully registered on the Public Grievances Portal, with Registration No. CBODT/E/2026/0001094, seeking scrutiny of the trust’s fund flows, accounting practices and statutory compliance by the appropriate authorities.

The allegations could not be independently verified. Efforts to contact the trust’s office-bearers for a response did not elicit a reply at the time of going to press.
