Bhopal: Tension flared in Madhya Pradesh’s capital on Monday after Bajrang Dal activists staged a protest over an auto-rickshaw allegedly found transporting beef in the Aishbagh area of Bhopal.
According to police, two individuals from the Aishbagh locality have been arrested in connection with the case, and an investigation is underway. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bittu Sharma stated, “The accused have been arrested, and strict action will follow. If the dairy unit linked to the case is found to be illegal, it will be demolished. Further inquiry is ongoing, and appropriate legal action is being taken.”
Bajrang Dal activist Hari Om Sharma, who was part of the protest, alleged that large quantities of beef were recovered. “In the past six months, five cases of cow slaughter have come to light in Bhopal. Today, beef in quintals was seized under Aishbagh police station limits. The city is turning into a hub of cow slaughter. We demand stringent action against those responsible,” Sharma said.
He added that the police administration has assured them of a thorough investigation and that any illegal structures, including the implicated dairy unit, will be demolished if found in violation.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections and continue to probe the incident.
