Mumbai (Maharashtra):Ranveer Singh’s latest release, Dhurandhar 2, is receiving widespread acclaim, and actor Ameesha Patel has now joined the chorus of praise. She described the film as an “eye-opener” for the industry, applauding both its storytelling and casting choices.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ameesha commended director Aditya Dhar for prioritizing substance over trends. She wrote that the film stands out because it focuses on genuine storytelling and features “actors, not Instagrammers who trend at parties.” She added that the industry should shift from making “projects” to creating meaningful films.
The film has garnered appreciation from several prominent Bollywood figures, including Ram Gopal Varma, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Riteish Deshmukh.
Praise has also poured in from the South Indian film industry. Stars such as Rajinikanth, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, S. S. Rajamouli, and Nagarjuna Akkineni have all lauded the film after watching it.
Dhurandhar 2 has also made a massive impact at the box office. Since its paid previews on March 18 and theatrical release on March 19, the film has been breaking records and drawing large audiences worldwide. It has already crossed ₹700 crore globally within days of release.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film is a sequel to Dhurandhar (2025), which was the highest-grossing Hindi film of its year. Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Arjun Rampal.
