The Aryavarth Express:
New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) on Tuesday reassured consumers that LPG supply across India remains stable and uninterrupted, even as a rise in advance bookings has temporarily increased demand.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the company noted that some households are booking refills earlier than required, leading to short-term pressure on delivery timelines.
IndianOil emphasised that there is no shortage of LPG and urged consumers to book cylinders only when necessary. It said that avoiding panic or advance bookings would help ensure smooth and timely distribution for all households.
The advisory comes amid global energy concerns linked to ongoing tensions in West Asia, which have impacted supply chains and raised fears of disruptions.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi said the government is taking all necessary steps to ensure that global supply issues do not affect consumers. He reiterated that there is no critical shortage of LPG and that efforts are underway to explore alternative supply options.
Officials added that the government is closely monitoring LPG availability in light of the geopolitical situation. Domestic LPG production has also increased by 36 percent, helping to strengthen supply.
In addition, online LPG bookings have risen from around 84 percent to nearly 90 percent, reflecting increased digital adoption. Authorities also confirmed that state governments are taking steps to prevent hoarding and black marketing.
IndianOil reiterated that its teams and distributors remain committed to ensuring that LPG cylinders are delivered efficiently to households across the country.
