Mumbai: Bollywood star Aamir Khan marked his 61st birthday on March 14 with a private celebration at his home, surrounded by family, close friends, and his girlfriend Gauri Spratt.
A video from the intimate gathering surfaced online on Saturday after former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan shared a clip on Instagram. Pathan attended the celebration with his wife, Safa Baig.
The video shows Aamir cutting his birthday cake as guests cheer and applaud. Keeping things casual, the actor wore a striped T-shirt with black pants. His children — Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, and Azad Rao Khan — were also seen in relaxed outfits of jeans and T-shirts, while Gauri opted for a green kurti paired with jeans.
The celebration included several playful moments. In one clip, Ira lights a lighter instead of a candle for the cake before Aamir blows it out. Later, she is seen playfully smearing cake cream on her father’s face, adding a cheerful touch to the family gathering.
Sharing the video, Pathan wrote, “Wishing a very Happy Birthday to Aamir bhai. Also wonderful to see Ira Khan doing impactful work through the Agatsu Foundation, spreading awareness and support for mental health and much more.”
Meanwhile, several members of the film industry extended their birthday wishes to the actor on social media. Filmmaker Kiran Rao shared a birthday video posted by Aamir Khan Productions and wrote, “HBD to my forever Sikander.”
On the work front, Aamir recently appeared at the Red Lorry Film Festival alongside filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. During the event, he spoke about how he was initially hesitant to listen to the script of the Oscar-nominated film Lagaan.
The actor recalled that he was eventually “blown away” by the story after Gowariker convinced him to hear it. He also shared memories from the film’s shoot, including how the cast and crew would listen to the Gayatri Mantra every day while travelling to the sets to maintain a calm and meditative mindset.
