The Aryavarth Express New Delhi, March 13: The seventh season of Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), India’s premier franchise-based table tennis league, will be held in Goa for the first time, bringing top international and Indian paddlers to the coastal state.
The upcoming season will take place at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, where city-based franchises and some of the world’s leading table tennis players will compete starting in July 2026, according to an official release from UTT.
Organised under the aegis of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), Ultimate Table Tennis has grown into one of the country’s most prominent sporting leagues since its launch in 2017.
Season 7 is expected to feature a mix of elite international stars and India’s top paddlers, continuing the league’s role as a platform where global players and emerging Indian talents compete together.
Speaking about the upcoming season, UTT co-promoter Vita Dani said the league has become an important pillar in India’s table tennis ecosystem. She noted that the competition has helped raise the sport’s standards across various levels, from grassroots programmes to international events, while providing greater exposure and stronger competition for Indian players.
Dani added that the aim remains to build a world-class league that inspires young athletes, engages fans and contributes to the long-term development of table tennis in India. She also expressed hope that initiatives like UTT would support the larger goal of helping India win an Olympic medal in table tennis.
Since its inception, UTT has completed six successful seasons and established itself as one of India’s longest-running active sports leagues. The tournament has featured legendary players such as Achanta Sharath Kamal while also providing a platform for emerging Indian stars including Diya Chitale, Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah.
The growth of UTT has coincided with significant progress in Indian table tennis. At the most recent Olympic Games, both the Indian men’s and women’s teams qualified for the first time, and Indian players have continued to perform strongly in international competitions on the global circuit.
