The Aryavarth Express:
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, will visit the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on March 19, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

According to Ayodhya District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde, preparations for the President’s visit are underway. Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, is scheduled to arrive in Ayodhya on Thursday to review the arrangements.

“The President will arrive in the district on March 19. The programme is being organised by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Senior officials including the Commissioner, ADG, and DIG have already held meetings with all departments and issued necessary instructions,” the District Magistrate said.

March 19 also marks the first day of the Hindu New Year, making the visit especially significant.

To ensure smooth darshan for devotees, officials have decided not to issue any VVIP or special passes for the day. Temple authorities will begin darshan one hour earlier than usual and continue it until late at night to accommodate devotees.

“Darshan will only pause briefly when the President and other dignitaries perform puja at the temple. Otherwise, it will continue uninterrupted so that ordinary devotees do not face inconvenience,” Funde added.

Addressing rumours regarding LPG supply in the district, the District Magistrate clarified that there is no shortage of domestic LPG cylinders in Ayodhya.

Reports had earlier suggested a shortage of commercial LPG cylinders amid the ongoing tensions in West Asia, following which the Centre invoked provisions of the Essential Commodities Act to prioritise domestic consumption.

According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, domestic LPG production has increased by about 25 percent, and the entire output is currently being directed towards household consumers.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs (India) has strengthened its control room, which is now operating round-the-clock to monitor the situation.
