New Delhi: SpiceJet on Tuesday revised the schedule of its flight SG 263 operating between Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata for March 10, citing operational reasons.

According to an airline advisory, the flight will now depart from Delhi’s Terminal 1D at 09:40 AM and is scheduled to arrive at Kolkata’s Terminal 2 at 12:00 PM. The airline informed passengers about the revised schedule and advised them to check their updated itinerary, complete web check-in, or track flight status through its official website.

“Dear Customer, due to operational reasons, your SpiceJet flight SG 263 from Delhi has been revised. Here are the updated details: SG 263, 10 Mar 26, Delhi (Terminal 1D) – Kolkata (Terminal 2), 0940 hrs – 1200 hrs. We regret any inconvenience caused,” the airline said in its advisory.

Meanwhile, Indian carriers including Akasa Air and SpiceJet have also announced continued and additional flight operations between India and the Gulf region. The move aims to assist passengers affected by disruptions linked to the ongoing West Asia conflict and related airspace restrictions.

SpiceJet stated that it will operate multiple special flights from Dubai to several Indian cities to maintain connectivity and support stranded travellers.

Earlier, a SpiceJet flight SG 9073 from Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates safely brought passengers to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi amid escalating tensions in the region.

Many passengers on the flight had travelled to the UAE to attend the Vijay Ratna (VR) award ceremony on February 28. However, they faced difficulties after several flights were cancelled due to the regional conflict. The group included 50 awardees and several journalists.

One of the passengers, Vivekanand Hodekar from Karnataka, said he became anxious after his original flight was cancelled. He credited Vijay Sankeshwar, Chairman and Managing Director of Vijayanand Roadlines Limited (VRL Group), for arranging food, accommodation, and alternate travel arrangements for all awardees.

A journalist who had travelled to Dubai to cover the awards said his flights scheduled for March 1 and March 3 were both cancelled. With Sankeshwar’s assistance, he eventually secured a SpiceJet flight on March 6.

“My family was waiting for me, and I was very tense. I am happy to have reached home safely,” he said.

The coordinated efforts helped ensure the safe return of all passengers despite the uncertainty caused by the ongoing conflict and resulting flight disruptions in the region.
