New Delhi [India], February 24: Amarak Chemicals FZC, an associate company of the Aries Group of Companies, has commenced operations at a fully automated sulphur manufacturing facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Dubai. The new plant is expected to significantly enhance the company’s global production and export capabilities.
The state-of-the-art facility has an annual production capacity of 60,000 metric tonnes of sulphur bentonite and value-added sulphur-based products for international markets. Designed as an Industry 4.0-ready unit, the plant incorporates advanced automation systems to ensure high productivity, operational precision and enhanced safety standards.
The facility was inaugurated by Shri B. G. Krishnan, Consul (Economic, Trade & Commerce) at the Consulate General of India in Dubai, in the presence of Saoud AlAwadhi, Director – Sales, Jafza, and members of the Aries Group’s Board of Directors.
Registered under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the plant enables Amarak Chemicals FZC to manufacture in the UAE and export duty-free to India, while also serving multiple international markets from a strategically located production hub.
Currently exporting to 13 countries across South America, the Asia-Pacific and other regions—including Brazil, Australia and New Zealand—the company expects the Dubai facility to help meet rising global demand for high-quality sulphur-based agricultural inputs, supported by improved supply chain efficiency.
The project underscores growing industrial collaboration between India and the UAE, combining Indian expertise in product development and process engineering with the UAE’s infrastructure and logistics strengths. The company has also secured long-term partnerships with leading sulphur suppliers in the UAE to ensure raw material security and consistent quality.
Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, Group Chairman of the Aries Group of Companies, said the investment reflects the group’s long-term strategy to build world-class manufacturing capabilities in agricultural inputs and strengthen its position as a global supplier of innovative fertilisers. He noted that Jafza offers strategic advantages, including lower logistics costs, faster market access and improved connectivity to key geographies.
Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO, Parks & Zones at DP World GCC, welcomed the investment, stating that the facility adds strength to Jafza’s agribusiness ecosystem and supports regional food supply chains by improving access to essential agricultural inputs.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by customers from seven countries, several of whom expressed interest in entering long-term supply agreements with the company for 2026 and beyond.
With the commissioning of the new plant, Amarak Chemicals FZC aims to reinforce its position as a globally competitive manufacturer of sulphur-based agricultural solutions while contributing to the expanding scope of India-UAE industrial partnerships.
