The Aryavarth Express Mumbai (Maharashtra): Actor Varun Dhawan has revealed that he sustained a hairline fracture while shooting for the war drama Border 2, describing the incident as the most painful injury he has experienced.
Taking to Instagram, Varun shared a clip from an action sequence in which he is seen lying on the ground after taking a hit. In the caption, the actor disclosed that he injured his tailbone while attempting to avoid colliding with the camera during the shoot.
“The worst injury I ever got on Border 2. I smashed my tailbone into a rock when I tried to avoid banging into the camera. It was the worst pain I ever felt. I sustained a hairline fracture on the tailbone, which I feel I am still healing from,” Varun wrote.
Despite the injury, the actor said he continued filming with the support of his team, even though he struggled to walk. “Thankful to my team for helping me continue that day. I could barely walk, but we kept going. Grateful for the journey,” he added.
Soon after the post was shared, fans flooded the comment section with messages expressing concern and wishing the actor a speedy recovery.
Varun Dhawan, who portrays Param Vir Chakra awardee Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya in the film, has been receiving strong appreciation from fans and industry insiders for his performance.
Released in theatres on January 23, Border 2 is inspired by true events from the 1971 India-Pakistan War and highlights the combined efforts of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The film marks Sunny Deol’s return to the big screen in a military role and also stars Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh in key roles.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Border 2 opened with a strong first-day collection of ₹32.10 crore and has gone on to earn ₹231.83 crore domestically, driven by robust box office performance over the extended weekend.
