Gandhinagar (Gujarat): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday inaugurated the 20th Grand Property Show–Olympiad organised by CREDAI Ahmedabad–GIHED (Gujarat Institute of Housing and Estate Developers). On the occasion, he also launched the film “Aa Ahmedabadno Dasko Che” and viewed the screening. Cabinet Minister for Forest and Environment Arjun Modhwadia was also present at the event.
Inaugurating the three-day property show at GMDC Ground, Ahmedabad, scheduled from January 9 to 11, 2026, the Chief Minister described the day as historic for both Gujarat and the nation. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Somnath Swabhiman Parv has begun, symbolising India’s enduring faith, cultural heritage and national pride. The Somnath Temple, he noted, is not merely a religious site but a powerful symbol of India’s self-confidence and self-respect.
The Chief Minister said that despite repeated historical attempts to weaken India’s culture, the nation has always emerged stronger and established itself on the global stage. He attributed India’s growing global stature to the Prime Minister’s strong and visionary leadership, emphasising that development must go hand in hand with the preservation of heritage.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, Patel recalled that one of the first decisions taken by Prime Minister Modi after assuming office was approving a permanent housing scheme for the poor and the general public. This, he said, reflected people-centric governance and has enabled citizens to live more comfortable and prosperous lives with access to modern amenities.
Speaking about Ahmedabad’s future, the Chief Minister said the city is poised for rapid growth over the next decade. Expansion in the property, infrastructure and industrial sectors will further strengthen Gujarat’s economy, and the state government is proud of Ahmedabad’s fast-paced development.
On environmental concerns, Patel stressed the need for immediate measures such as rainwater harvesting, groundwater conservation and energy efficiency to tackle challenges like global warming. He said sustainable development is essential to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The Chief Minister added that Viksit Gujarat plays a crucial role in realising the national vision of a developed India, and the state government is working with full commitment towards this goal under the Prime Minister’s leadership.
The event was attended by Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibhaben Jain, CREDAI National President Shekhar Patel, GIHED office-bearer Alapbhai Patel, along with leading real estate developers, industrialists, investors and a large number of city residents.
