As the world prepares to welcome 2026, actor-director Farhan Akhtar has taken a moment to look back at what he describes as a fulfilling and memorable year. Reflecting on 2025, Farhan said the year brought together rewarding professional milestones and cherished moments with family.
Speaking during his visit to the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa last month, where his film 120 Bahadur was screened, Farhan shared his thoughts on the year gone by. He described 2025 as “amazing,” highlighting both his creative achievements and personal life.
“This year has been amazing. I got to make this incredible movie, and I’m also preparing to begin directing my next film, which will happen next year. Overall, it’s been a wonderful year. I spent quality time at home with my family, so I really couldn’t ask for more,” Farhan said.
On the professional front, Farhan was last seen in the war film 120 Bahadur, directed by Razneesh Ghai. The film is based on the life of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the Battle of Rezang La in 1962. The story highlights the heroic stand of his unit—largely consisting of Ahir (Yadav) soldiers from Rewari and nearby regions—who defended the Rezang La Pass, a crucial line of defence for the Chushul airfield.
Talking about the challenges of portraying real-life heroes on screen, Farhan acknowledged the added responsibility such films carry. “All films are challenging in some way or another. This one demanded much more, especially because of the locations where we shot. That does make a difference,” he said.
120 Bahadur also features Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, and Dhanveer Singh in key roles.
