New Delhi:
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday visited the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Dilshad Garden to review healthcare facilities and assess the quality of patient care.
During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with several patients and their families, listened to their concerns, and enquired about the progress of their treatment. She also offered reassurance and directed hospital authorities to address issues raised by patients.
CM Gupta inspected the Outpatient Department (OPD), hospital wards, and the emergency department, with a focus on cleanliness, patient comfort, availability of doctors and healthcare staff, and timely delivery of medical services. She emphasised that no patient should face delays in treatment and that healthcare must be delivered with dignity, sensitivity, and trust.
In a post on X, the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said she had instructed officials to ensure prompt and respectful treatment for all patients. CM Gupta stated that accessible, reliable, and high-quality healthcare remains a top priority for the Delhi government.
During her visit, the Chief Minister also participated in the ‘Divyang Janon ke Divya Atal’ programme, where she interacted with persons with disabilities. She praised their determination and resilience, noting that true strength comes from resolve rather than physical ability.
According to the Delhi CMO, CM Gupta highlighted the philosophy of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who believed that persons with disabilities are not objects of pity but represent the conscience and strength of society. She said the Delhi government is continuing his vision by strengthening education, skill development, employment opportunities, and accessible public infrastructure for persons with disabilities.
The CMO added that these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, ensuring that every citizen has the opportunity to contribute to nation-building with dignity and self-reliance.
