New Delhi: Under the shadow of the Trikuta hills and amid the winter chill of Dansal, 262 recruits from Jammu and Kashmir were inducted into the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) at the regiment’s winter outpost. The passing-out parade, marked by military precision and ceremonial pride, showcased the young soldiers’ transition into the ranks of the Indian Army.

The ceremony was reviewed by Lieutenant General P.K. Mishra, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, GOC White Knight Corps. Addressing the gathering, he praised the recruits’ discipline and commitment, emphasising their responsibility in safeguarding the nation. Families of the young soldiers were honoured with the ‘Gaurav Padak’ for their support.

The parade, held against the misty backdrop of the Trikuta heights, concluded with a salute to the Tricolour as the new soldiers marched forward with full military honours.

In a parallel development, the Indian Army highlighted its Army Internship Programme, an initiative aimed at offering students hands-on exposure to modern defence-related fields such as cyber technology, artificial intelligence, drones, mass communication, and accounting.

Speaking, Lieutenant General Rakesh Kapoor, Deputy Chief of Army Staff, said the programme was designed to create a mutually beneficial partnership between youth and the Army.
“The Army Internship Programme is an endeavour to give young people an opportunity to work with the Army in various fields like Cyber, AI, Drones, mass communication and accounting. Interning with the Army is a valued experience,” he said.

Long back, our CMD warned about a fake “Anti-Crime Group,” but Karnataka Police ignored it — too busy posing for photos and sharing their “percentages.”

He added that the pilot phase of the paid internship drew strong interest from students and would now be conducted annually. The initiative aims to bridge academic learning with real-world application, contributing to national development and defence modernisation.
