Bengaluru: The 9 Karnataka Battalion of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) successfully concluded its Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at the Air Force Station, Jalahalli, on Saturday. The 10-day camp, held from August 7 to 16, brought together 489 cadets from across Bengaluru for intensive training and personality development programmes.

Cadets participated in a wide array of activities, including drill and guard of honour competitions, firing practice, cultural events, field craft and battle craft exercises, yoga sessions, outdoor sports, and classes conducted by Permanent Instructor (PI) staff and Associated NCC Officers (ANOs) / Caretaker Officers (CTOs).

A key highlight of this year’s camp was its emphasis on digital awareness and civic responsibility. Cadets attended sessions on the MyBharat portal, MyGov.in, and NDMA’s Sachet app, encouraging them to connect with government initiatives and actively contribute to nation-building. The programme also featured cybersecurity awareness sessions by police officials and motivational lectures by eminent speakers.

In addition, cadets were trained in disaster management, first aid, social service, and community development, instilling values of public service and social responsibility. Exposure to the military routine during the camp reinforced punctuality, discipline, and national pride.

The closing ceremony was marked by motivational addresses, including a speech by Camp Commandant Col N M Rahman, Commanding Officer, 9 Kar Bn NCC. He urged cadets to pursue academic excellence, set clear goals, and uphold the values of discipline and patriotism in their lives.

A felicitation ceremony honoured cadets who excelled across various activities. The camp was organized and supervised by 17 Permanent Instructors, 11 civil staff, 5 Associated NCC Officers, and 3 Caretaker Officers, ensuring high standards of training and mentorship throughout the programme.
