West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh: A large forest fire broke out in the Nadipar forest area near Dirang town in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district, engulfing several acres of land. Fortunately, no human casualties or property damage have been reported.

The blaze, which started on April 24, was brought under control later that evening with the coordinated efforts of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), local police, fire services, district administration, and residents. Dirang MLA Phurpa Tsering confirmed the development and praised the swift response of all involved agencies.

This incident follows another major fire in February at Tenga market, also in West Kameng. That fire broke out in the early hours and prompted a rapid response from Indian Army personnel of the Gajraj Corps. Army teams arrived with firefighting equipment, successfully containing the flames and extending immediate humanitarian support to affected residents.

Both incidents highlight the crucial role of civil-military cooperation in disaster response, with the Indian Army and other agencies acting promptly to protect lives and property.
