The Aryavarth Express

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) has strongly condemned a serious security lapse during the recent visit of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to Ramagiri in the Sri Sathya district. According to a press release issued by the party, despite being a Z+ category protectee, there was a significant lack of police presence at the helipad, leading to a chaotic situation.

The uncontrolled surge of the crowd resulted in damage to the helicopter’s windshield. The security risk was so severe that the pilots refused to fly the helicopter back, citing safety concerns. Consequently, after Jagan Mohan Reddy completed his programme, the helicopter immediately departed, and he had to return to Bengaluru by road.

YSRCP has criticised the negligence of the current Andhra Pradesh government and its police officials, stating that this is not the first instance of such a lapse. On February 19, 2025, during Jagan’s visit to Guntur’s Mirchi Yard to show support to farmers, the state government failed to deploy even a single police officer, despite prior notice of his visit.

The party views these incidents as a deliberate attempt to create fear among YSRCP workers and expose Jagan Mohan Reddy to unnecessary risks. They believe this reflects a wider political conspiracy to undermine the former chief minister’s public engagements and weaken his position.

In response to these recurring issues, YSRCP had previously written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 7 and July 18, 2024, and to Home Minister Amit Shah on March 6, 2025. The letters raised concerns over the repeated reduction of YS Jagan’s security and highlighted specific incidents, urging immediate intervention to ensure the safety of the former Chief Minister.
