Bengaluru: The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) by the 9 Kar Bn NCC, Bengaluru, is being conducted from 17 May 2025 to 26 May 2025 at Christ University Campus, Kanmanike, Kengeri, Bengaluru. 461 cadets from the affiliated colleges/schools covering the area of Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru rural districts participated in the CATC under the supervision of Army personnel and Associate NCC officers. The CATC is being conducted to impart military training to all the participating cadets with a focus on the holistic development, growth and training of the cadets via a diverse range of activities that promote discipline, leadership, cultural integration and military etiquette.
Besides the regular training programme, the cadets are given exposure to multiple disciplines and personality development by expert guest lectures on subjects such as mental health and wellbeing, abuse and the bad effects of Narcotics by reps from NCB, basics of cybersecurity, geopolitics, soft skills & communications, first aid & CPR.
The Cadets are also given an opportunity to showcase their sports and extracurricular skills in different competitions organised in the camp, like the Drill Competition, Field Craft & Battle Craft, a contemporary Map Reading Competition, Debate, Quiz Competition, Essay Writing, Basketball, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Tug of War, Musical Chairs, and athletics to inculcate competitive spirit.
As part of innovative training ideas, the Cadets are being exposed to a drone training capsule to impart the basics of engineering, maintenance and operation of drones.
An extensive eye checkup and health checkup camp is planned during the camp.
Col. Sanwal Shah Kalia, Group Commander, NCC Group `B`, Bengaluru, is scheduled to visit the camp and review training and overall activities conducted in the camp. The camp is being organised under the supervision of Camp Commandant, Col. N. M. Rahman, and Deputy Camp Commandant, Lt. Col. Amit Bhatnagar.
