New Delhi: Flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport were thrown into disarray on Thursday as IndiGo cancelled 150 flights—75 departures and 75 arrivals—across domestic and international sectors, airport authorities confirmed.
The cancellations come amid severe nationwide disruptions to IndiGo’s operations, leaving passengers stranded at airports with little clarity or timely updates.
At Hyderabad Airport, several frustrated passengers expressed anger over the airline’s handling of the situation. Ashwini, who had travelled from Mumbai for a work meeting, said he was stunned to learn that the flight he had been rescheduled to board was cancelled without prior notice.
“I was given a boarding pass for an earlier flight, but when I arrived, I wasn’t allowed inside. They told us this has been happening for the last three to four days. There are no flights available until tomorrow,” he told.
Santosh, another passenger trying to reach Chennai for an important meeting, said the unexpected delay upended his schedule.
“I have meetings lined up in Chennai. There was no call or communication from IndiGo. I had to keep checking news channels to realise the flight was delayed,” he said.
